The NOAH Project will be providing affordable accuDEXA Bone Mineral Density Screenings every Saturday in Marion VA and Aiken SC.

Based on statistics provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), it is estimated that a fracture that results in hospitalization costs an average of $27,000. Outpatient follow-up, rehabilitation therapy, and nursing care costs represent an additional 30%. That’s $35,100!

Osteoporosis is a major Public Health Threat for 52,000,000 million Americans, of whom over 35,000,000 million (68%) are Women and 17,000,000 (32%) are Men.

12,000,000 people already have Osteoporosis, and 40,000,000 more have Low Bone Mass, placing them at increased risk for this Chronic Disease.

Unless lifestyle changes are made, Half of All Americans age 50 and older will have Weak Bones by 2020. Weak bones are a problem because they break easily, and broken bones are a problem because they are not only painful, but can cause a Downward Health Spiral.

Osteoporosis can strike at any age. One out of every Two Women and One in Four men, age 50 and older, will have an Osteoporosis-related Fracture in their lifetime.

A Woman’s risk of a Hip Fracture is equal to her COMBINED RISK of getting Breast, Uterine, and Ovarian cancer!

In the United States, Osteoporosis is responsible for more than 1.5 million Fractures annually, including approximately 300,000 Hip Fractures, 700,000 Vertebral Fractures, 250,000 Wrist Fractures, and more than 300,000 Fractures at other sites.

Of the 300,000 Hip Fractures each year, an average of 41% of these Hip Fracture patients, age 50 and older, leave the Hospital to enter a Nursing Home. Half will be unable to walk without assistance.

Every year, over 80,000 Men have an Osteoporosis-related Hip Fracture, and One-Third of these Men will DIE within a year.

Based on figures from Hospitals and Nursing Homes, the estimated United States National Direct Expenditures for Osteoporosis and related Fractures total $14 Billion each year. That’s more than $38 Million A Day!

Health Projects USA's International Association of accuDEXA Technicians (INAADT) provides professional training of individuals to become Certified Registered accuDEXA Technicians.

accuDEXA Technicians operate the Lone Oak Medical Technologies accuDEXA Bone Mineral Density Assessment System. This System is used throughout the world to provide accurate Dual Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry assessment of Bone Mineral Content to help determine a person’s risk of having Osteoporosis.

The accuDEXA Bone Mineral Density Assessment System provides a quick, convenient and economical measure for determining an individual's fracture risk. The accuDEXA Bone Mineral Density Assessment enables physicians to comply with International Osteoporosis Testing recommendations, and helps manage periodic Osteoporosis screenings for at-risk individuals.

The new INAADT accuDEXA Technician Certification Course prepares an individual to successfully pass the INAADT accuDEXA Technician Certification Examination. This Course provides a study of Osteoporosis, including causes, treatments, and assessment techniques. This Course also provides a comprehensive study of the accuDEXA Bone Mineral Density Assessment System, including actual hands-on set-up and use of the accuDEXA Bone Mineral Density Assessment System.

In addition, this Course includes a study of the Policy and Procedure Guidelines for a Certified accuDEXA Technician to conduct a professional Bone Mineral Density Assessment Event.

Upon completion of this Course, the student will be eligible to take the INAADT accuDEXA Technician Certification Examination. Students who pass this Examination will receive the professional designation of Certified accuDEXA Technician.

INAADT-Certified accuDEXA Technicians can earn up to $30 to $50 or more per hour
providing accuDEXA Bone Mineral Density Screenings throughout the United States.
